The CASEP program operates in more that 30 communities closely linked
with our affiliate organization, Asociaci—n de Mujeres Defensoras de la
Vida (Association of Women Defenders of Life). Together we have developed
solar cooking, nutrition and children scholarship programs. Growing out
of these, are community libraries, revolving loan funds and soy production
projects.
Our office is in Choluteca
and our program center is in Oricuina.
The Guatamalan program operates in 21 communities in the south
western part of the country. Both indigenous and ladino population, with
several different languages, are included in the local affiliate, Amigas
del Sol (Friends of the Sun). In addition to solar ovens, the program
promotes, home garden, water reserve tank and environmental education.
