Boca Costa

Boca Costa is a region of all K'iche speaking women. This region also includes an area where the women, of Ki'che' ethnicity, speak Spanish as a second language and maintain their native dress, language and culture.

Communities in Boca Costa:Santo Tomas La Unión, Xojolá, Chirijmazá, Xejuyup, Chuisantotomas and Chocola.

Costa Sur

Guadelupita is a community of refugees who returned from Mexico after fleeing there during the armed conflicts of the 1980s. While in Mexico, many of the women gained a strong foundation for community organizing and continue to contribute greatly to the solar cooking project.

Sur Occidente

The area of Sur Occidente is located on the southwestern coast bodering Mexico, a region whose economy is dominated by pineapple, banana and sugar plantations.

Communities in Sur Occidente: Catarina, Monte Cristo, La Blanca, Las Madronales, Las Morenas, Palmar II, Valle Lirio
